The Peace of Bread Community Kitchen is a free ministry of our church and has been committed to offering a helping hand and a warm welcome to all who come. Every Wednesday we open our doors to anyone in need and offer a warm meal and a friendly hello. On a typical week we serve anywhere between 120 and 150 guests and our meals are generously provided by various churches and community organizations.
With the help of people like you, the program has blessed countless people over the past fourteen years, and we have been able to add various programs over the years. Currently, along with a weekly meal, we also offer a Food and Clothing Pantry, summer lunch bags, after school tutoring, and a Bible Book Study.
We now would like to introduce the “Friends of the Peace of Bread,” a non-profit organization of the United Presbyterian Church dedicated to supporting and promoting this thriving community outreach. Through advocacy, service and fundraising, the “Friends” strive to enrich and support Peace of Bread. Donations to the Friends help keep our doors open each week by providing vital funding for things like fuel, fees and other overhead expenses. The Friends of Peace of Bread seek to raise awareness and support of this vital ministry and to foster a stronger relationship between the community and the participants.
